JAMES 5:16 - Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.

Power of Prayer

* Prayer is powerful and effective when we are in a right spiritual relationship with God and totally commit, devote and dedicate our entire lives to God, who is my first love and first priority (not trusting in riches), and living a life of holiness, godliness, purity, truth and righteousness.

* We avoid what the bible defines as sin, always asking God for help in avoiding all sin, evil, pressures, distractions and resisting temptations in the world.

* I believe the gravest sins in the eyes of God, with the heaviest of penalties are idolatry, sexual immorality and greed.

* True, heartfelt repentance and avoiding these sins will draw us closer to God and thereby we will receive answers to our prayers and therefore our prayers will be powerful and effective, giving us victory in our Christian lives, this includes victory over all our enemies, overcoming the world and turning the world upside down. 

Psa 66:18-20 - If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened; but God has surely listened and heard my voice in prayer. Praise be to God, who has not rejected my prayer or withheld his love from  me!

John 9:31 - We know that God does not listen to sinners. He listens to the godly man who does his will.

1 John 5:4 - for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.
